I don't see how I can be using it wrong as the whole process seems to be fairly self explanatory (although as I'm using it for the first time I wouldn't rule user error out).I just don't understand why it won't pick up my CR2 files. Yes, DNG converter 3.6 and ACR 3.6 were the first versions of each capable of handling your cameras RAWs - but all subsequent ACRs (the plugin used by Photoshop to work on RAW files) can handle earlier cameras.Įven so I don't recollect (unless Christmas saw more brain cells killed off than I've realised) reading of newer versions of the DNG converter DROPPING support for cameras previously covered. which is normally necessary only for RAWs unsupported by the version of ACR in your editing software? I may be misunderstanding, but had thought that CS6 would be perfectly able to open CR2 files from that camera without you needing to send them via the DNG converter.

I've done a little more research and it seems that the version of the converter I need may be 3.6 but that won't download onto windows 10. I've tried every option in the Preferences and nothing's working. I have downloaded the newest version (9.3) but it won't pick up the CR2 files from my desktop. However, I'm having trouble downloading the Adobe DNG converter. I want to be able to upload my photos from my canon 400d in RAW files so that I can edit them in Photoshop CS6.
